Thermoplastics
Thermoplastics are plastics or polymers that consist of long linear molecules. Most of the plastics used in industry today fall into this group of polymers. The reason for this is that they become malleable into plastic when heated and eventually melt. As a result, they can be moulded into the desired shape using various primary and subsequent forming processes. After cooling, the workpiece retains its shape. The process is also reversible and can be repeated as often as required.
